Monthly puzzle

I left home to go to my little fishing lake. At 40 km/hr straight north on a logging road, it would take me 1½ hours to get there. At exactly 10:15 a.m. I reached a cross road and was faced with a sign saying "ACTIVE LOGGING, ROAD CLOSED". Other than turning around to go back home, this left me with two choices:
  1. Go due west to Appletown, then straight to the lake, all the way on good back roads, so I would be able to drive at 60 km/hr, or
  2. Go due east to Brownsville at 60 km/hr and then take a trail with deep ruts and potholes for the last 20 km, where I would be able to drive at only 25 km/hr.
The second choice distance would be half of the first choice distance, but would save me only 8 minutes.

What time did I leave home?
